The location is AMAZING—right by the covered market! 🍽️ Cozy room with a fridge, but the bathroom sharing can be a bit tricky at times. good value for the price!

absolutely charming hotel located really close to the covered markets in the retail tourist area and the airport and the center. marvellous, amazing location rith in the centre of oxford. again, walking distance to the covered market oxford.

The guesthouse is perfect location near the Covered Market making it easy to explore. My room felt cozy with a charming city view. The self-catering kitchen was a great addition and provided a warm environment for casual meals with fellow guests.

The shared bathroom can be quite busy at peak times.

The location was magnificent, quite close to old town.

Clean hotel, enjoyed to be short walk to the airport, and the covered market thanks to particularly good and fab location. The room was large with smoke detectors for safety measures. The staff were amicable and very polite, had a very good stay on the one night I stayed.

The rooms are cozy, the location is fab. The staff is amicable and very polite, makes sure that the place is clean.

Hot water issues are a huge letdown!!! The steep staircases are downright dangerous for those with heavy luggage. The shared bathroom access is inadequate for multiple rooms. The entrance could use clear signage!!!

The location of Golden Cross Guesthouse is fantastic, situated just steps from the Covered Market and other key Oxford sights. My room was cozy, with essential amenities like a fridge and microwave that added to my comfort .

The owners are kind and helpful, contributing to a very pleasant atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a self-catering kitchen complete with essential appliances. The building's historical charm adds to the overall experience, and the cleanliness of both shared spaces and rooms is commendable.

Quirky stay in a historical building

My visit was quite the adventure, navigating through quirky stairs and multiple locked doors to reach my top floor room. The shared kitchen area was a great perk, nice for some casual conversations with other guests, while the comfort of my room with its lovely bed made for a good night's rest. Though the hotel could benefit from a bit of TLC and clearer directions for entrance, its unique charm and central location by the Covered Market were great. Just a heads-up, having some milk for the tea would have been a nice touch!

It was just an appropriate option for a weekend vacation in Oxford with good price-value balance. The shared kitchen was neat and well-equipped, easy for me to prepare meals and save some money. Bring your own toiletries if you prefer specific ones, as the basics are provided but might not cater to everyone's tastes.
